Supa stoked to have been rep'd on the front page of Mississippi Modern for the release of their new website, free press, and art event held at the Mississippi Museum of Art in Jackson on January 16, 2014.
Mississippi Modern Productions is a contemporary platform for artists and creatives of all types: film, music, literature, fine art and design.
It consists of an arts centered free press, a killer website full of the latest cultural happenings in the state as well as artist resources, and last but not nearly the least, a series of community art + music events set to launch this spring.
Its aim is to propel Mississippi forward through creativity.
Mississippi is filled to the brim with creative people. Fact. We are pro's at creating our own entertainment because we have always had limited resources. Prime example, how about: the Blues. You know, the root of all modern American music? It is astonishing to me how many mega talents there are from this state. For the most part these folks have not received due recognition, and unfortunately the creatives in Mississippi are mostly working independently from one another. Mississippi is pretty spread out and rural; folks are content in their little corners. Yet, bringing us all together would surely produce a force to be reckoned with. This is what Mississippi Modern aims to produce.
